The prologue unfolds in a mysterious cave, and you might be wondering—why a cave? Well, it all started with a dream. Years ago, I found myself trapped in a dark, echoing cavern, and that haunting image stayed with me. I kept weaving stories around it, and eventually, I decided to write one down. The actual location I chose is Luary Caverns in Luary, Virginia—a place I know well, having visited twice: once when I was seven and again in my late teens. What makes Luary Caverns so special? Besides its mesmerizing beauty, it boasts a one-of-a-kind stalacpipe organ that captures the imagination. So, a vivid dream, a story in my mind, and a real-life cavern all inspired the compelling setting of the prologue.
